We have never seen a president and first lady, and friends, use taxpayers' money like this. The presidential entourage will have 40 aircraft, including the Air Force One that will ferry the president. There will be six armored cars, including the Barack Mobile, a Cadillac, plus 30 sniffer dogs will be put in service to boost the security arrangements during Obama's visit. They have booked the entire Taj Mahal Hotel, including 570 rooms, plus all banquets and restaurants. Since his security contingent and staff will comprise a huge number, 125 rooms at Taj President have also been booked, apart from 80 to 90 rooms each in Grand Hyatt and The Oberoi hotels. The NCPA, where the President is expected to meet representatives from the business community, has also been entirely booked.
An official said, "Obama's contingent is huge. There are two jumbo jets coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. There will be 30 to 40 secret service agents, who will arrive before him. The President's convoy has 45 cars, including the Lincoln Continental in which the President travels." Sorry, but the story was on several national news programs last evening and will be much discussed for a few days. The best estimate, by the government, is 200million each day. Try watching something other than cartoons.

Here it is the one year anniversey of the Ft. Hood massacre and Obama hasnt said one thing about it. Sorry Anon 11:57 AM but two aircraft carriers and all the support ships involved just happen to be traveling over 7,500 miles to end up in exactly the same place as the President --and his party of 3000 happen to be going--for a "training exercise" that wasn't on the schedule at the beginning of the year? Deny as the President's Press Secretary may try to do, I'm not buying any of his spin! The Navy doesn't have that kind of money to waste under current budgets.
