Careful! If its too good to believe, it might not be accurate. This story, and variants thereof, have been circulating for five or six years now and attributed to three different Australian PMs.
I think the closest actual event was an interview with Australia's Treasurer, Peter Costello, in 2005 after the London Tube bombings:

From his online biography, it also seems Peter Costello has brought down eleven consecutive Federal Budgets, including nine surpluses, completely eliminated the Commonwealth's net debt and introduced the largest tax reform in Australian history, which was endorsed at the 1998 election.
And all of that really is something we wish Obama could say!
The President of France said it right on the mark lately. The killing of Christians are the victims of religious cleansing, while our leaders are dancing around the subject, trying to find new phrases to water down an ongoing genocide. Its not like Obama cares or something.He has given his stamp of approval to allow 88k more muslims into our country. Christians are on their own path to survival.The thousands of Christians found in the ME are flocking to Israel. Obama is making no effort to provide them with passes or approval to come to America.
