BROWN AND WHITNEY LOSE ONE

I was just trying to take the positive road,” said Mr. Brown who represents Cypress Borough where FourFarms would be located. Attorney Whitney Saunders lost the battle despite several opportunities to plead his case because Suffolk Citizens for Responsible Growth would not sit still for more road traffic congestion and had the obvious support of the Planning Commission. Brown wanted to table the motion to end the debate and many voting citizens might remember the next time Brown’s name shows on the ballot. Those petitions signed by 600 citizens might indicate Brown didn’t know his constituents. The attorney, Whitney Saunders, suggested there should be more time to study the outstanding design of the project. I’d say it had been studied to a sure death.

Perhaps the citizens of Cypress Borough should have awakened from their dazed and confused state to elect someone other than the eloquent and learned Vice Mayor Charles Brown. They have almost four years before they have another opportunity unseat him. As we all know he got his new groove Vice Mayor title as a payoff for his vote on Lone Star Lakes. This is just the first episode. Stay tuned for more.

Vice Mayor Brown was the lone dissenting vote, stating that he did not want to vote against Four Farms before he had a full understanding of the project. He said that he wished that Suffolk Citizens for Responsible Growth had contacted him, in spite of the fact that one of our members spoke with him at length earlier this month. Most disturbing was the fact that Vice Mayor Brown was seen talking with the developers--and giving them a "thumbs up"-- BEFORE the public hearing.

How much was Brown paid for his "thumbs up?" And by whom

Instead of a thumb he should have should them a finger.

Excuse me.
Brown said he wished that SCFRG contacted him? Hey who do you think you are? A congress critter? You have time, why not show some real concerns and get up off your lazy vice mayor chair and do something constructive for a damn change. Brown is so slow mentality and physically he has to speed up to stop.

But it was nice to see Mr. Barlow there to receive his recognition. The only statesmen in Suffolk has retired.

Charles Brown was lulled into a false sense of security. Four farms application process dragged on until after the election following his re-election, appointment as Vice Mayor and his vote on Mattanock. Now he sits next to the mayor for the next two years thinling how badly he was set up by the others. Forrest Gump said it best; stupid is, what stupid does. The voters in Cypress deserve him.

My understanding was that Brown was the lesser of two evils. Now it the time to start vetting a viable candidate to run against him.

I watched a rerun of council meeting...wow Brown is a idiot!

I have to wipe off my tv screen everytime I watch council on TV. Problem is there are those who watch it live and then later watch the rerun thinking something has changed.

The Cypress Borough residents deserve better - we need real representation in Council. Mr. Brown chooses not to engage the citizens he was elected to represent - he was approached by a member of the Suffolk Citizens for Responsible Growth and was asked to listen to the concerns. He instead spent 20 minutes saying that there has to be common ground, that the opposition just "doesn't know enough". Certainly, we hadn't spent the time in Whitney Saunders office that he had, but I think we knew the proposal pretty well. We will be watching - and ready to speak for Cypress when Mr. Brown chooses not to.
