RANDY FORBES ON THE ATTACK

“Today's announcement to close our nation's premier joint operations and efficiency command is the outcome of fiscal coercion resulting from reckless and dangerous spending decisions, not from well-placed and much-needed efforts to root out waste in government. It exhibits an arrogant lack of leadership and lack of concern for the welfare of our nation and for the men and women in uniform.

“Under the cover of night, this Administration is selling off our military at auction to pay for its social programs. It has withheld our nation’s shipbuilding plan - required of them by law - while the Chinese navy aggressively bypassed us in number of ships. It has withheld our aviation plan, while our Navy struggles from a lack of aircraft needed to perform current and future missions. It has issued gag orders preventing any Pentagon officials, military and civilian, from speaking with Congress about budgets cuts and the risks to our national defense. This Administration has brought blatant partisan politics into the annual defense policy bill by attaching controversial social agendas. They have shown more regard for the rights of terrorists than for justice for those lost on September 11th and the safety of those currently fighting to protect our nation from the next radical terrorist attack. And this week, they and Congressional Democrat leadership have called the House back into session to vote on a package that includes $2.8 billion in defense spending cuts in order to pay for more social bailouts.

“The American people will see this decision for what it is: a first step in a long string of national defense cuts that will systematically and intentionally gut the institutions that protect and defend the freedoms and liberties upon which our nation was founded - and they WILL NOT STAND FOR IT.

Randy you may be a nice guy. You may even be a Conservative behind that facade of a Republican. But where have you been all these years you were in Congress? Why were you not screaming at your party's leadership to control spending, better communicate with the constituents and get government spending in line. There is plenty of blame to go around. As soon as you admit your party was also at fault and give us a gameplan to recover the nation, the sooner I'll respect what you have to say.

Randy Forbes is just like all the other politicians. I want cuts, government is too big. But when it comes to my back yard keep big government and redundant operations in place. I think this is a painful but needed cut.

Go to Mr. Forbes's website and read the legistlation that he has been involved in. As for blame, he has been on several radio stations and has spoken on the topic. The Bush Administration and past "Republican"-controlled Congress were full of a bunch of moderates who waivered in the popularity "breeze". In other words they lost focus and lost their conservative principles. Mr. Forbes has acknowledged that.

The question about Mr. Forbes is and has been WHEN did he find the backbone to speak out against government waste. WHEN did he find the Religion of Conservatism? Is he a Conservative or more likely a Moderate Republican. He seems a little too comfortable to be my Congressman. Randy lets be honest for a change. I didn't vote for you last time because you didn't earn my respect as a leader in a party that woefully lacks direction and purpose. It doesn't looks like this year will be any different. Sorry.

Charles Shotten, a local citizen said it best in the SNH. "To the Editor:

The administration hands out billions in stimulus funds to create jobs, then cancels 5,000 jobs to save millions. It doesn’t make sense. Is Virginia receiving a dose of Chicago-style political payback?

Well Randy, Secretary Gates really stuck it to us and now he will be retiring next year. He'll probably get several nice directorships, write a book and go on the lecture circuit. I think you should follow his example.

Hey Forbes, I suggest that you and other repugs and yes demwits all gather together at Mark Warner's pending pig roast on 9-11 he is having to raise funds for a 9-11 memorial. To some people, building a Victory Mosque (that’s how Osama bin Laden will see it) near Ground Zero is as insulting to America as a ham sandwich is to Islamic thugs. Eat a ham sandwich or two and salute the Islamic idiots who want the mosque built. Why not all of you propose to abolish Labor Day and dump it.And in its place declare September 11 a national holiday to be observed with somber ceremonies to honor the fallen victims and heroes of this infamous act of terrorism. We have two blue dog demwits who are no where near being blue dogs at all. When tuff votes are up on the agenda they both tend to be somewhere else.
