NAACP MAD AS HELL AND SHOULD BE TALKING TO GANG LEADERS TO JOIN THE BATTLE

The folks participating in the Nansemond-Suffolk NAACP believe there’s a crisis among the youth of Suffolk, and they hope to step in and provide a solution. It seems to have taken a very long time but you can’t ignore three murders in a year. Again, finally the NAACP local leaders will take up the cause that has been left to the cops for many years.

Charles S. Gates, President of the local NAACP leadership reportedly said, “We realized here in Suffolk that we have a major problem that exists here on the streets. That problem is violence, the NAACP feels that now is the time to take a stand.” We pray for their success, violence has been a trademark of Suffolk for many years.

Suffolk's NAACP leadership only now has decided to try to rescue Suffolk's youth. Where the h--l have they been all these decades asleep in the pews, passing out deflamatory leaflets from their national organization or somehow trying to work the system for personal gain. The next thing they'll try to do is siphon funds from the Charity Section of Selena's city budget and catch the occasional meaty bone thrown to them from the Obici Healthcare Foundation? NAACP stop playing politics with our children. The problem rests at home, in the schools, in the entertainment industry and with the Black cultural elite. When you come to that conclusion let us know.

Other than getting a Confederte battle flag removed in South Carolina what has the NAACP actually done? Even its name is outdated

Obama can host a Ramadan Dinner in the White House but he doesn't have the time for the National Prayer Breakfast. Where is the outrage from all those Black Ministers, Reverends, Pastors, Deacons, ets., etc. that are members of the NAACP. Silence + Fear x Attitude = Progressives

NAACP you need a scape goat. How about blaming Bush. Obama does it almost everyday not much is accomplished but groups like yours love it.

it looks now that the NAACP is serious, mad as hell, etc. The goal is worth the attempt and we wish them the best. Hopefully three Councilmen will join the effort if for no other reason than they may be influential and carry a big stick when currying favors from the police. And there are several well respected prominent Black businessmen that can get the necessary attention. How can "IS" help.

Pock if you believe it to be so why not you go down to St. Timothy on E. Washington Street and see for yourself what they are trying to accomplish. It looks like they are soliciting ideas, that will be the same ideas from the same people that have been solicited so many times in the past by the City Administration, SPD, and other organizations.

Taxpayers are tired of hearing the decades old excuses about the lack of programs and activities. How many more government sponsored taxpayer funded programs can we afford even with Obama in office? These programs are almost never sucessful (ie: midnight basketball) that become endless bureaucratic money pits.

Talent competitions and debate matches isn't going to solve the problem either. They have far more fundemental cultural issues like government dependency, illegal drugs, broken/non-existant family structure, bad schools that award mediocrity, the lack of private employment opportunity, and the most damaging the hood/thug/slave victimized culture that is constantly reinforced by the media. When the black community decides to stop ignoring these issues and address them, then there is a slight chance of moving in a positive direction.

So the NAACP is going to follow in the footsteps of the UN and write a letter of protest and address it to the black community. wow

Does any serious person believe a dude with his drawers hanging out of his pants wearing a doo-rag will participate in a dance competition, win a debate or even enter a church? Lets get real folks before it too late!

The NAACP meeting will be attended by city councilmen, and representatives from; the Suffolk City Administration, Suffolk Parks and Recreation, Suffolk Public Schools, Suffolk Social Services, Suffolk Public Safety, Suffolk Media & Community Relations, the Commonwealth Attorney's office, Suffolk Planning & Community Development, Welfare Advisory Board, Western Tidewater Community Services, Early Childhood Development Commission, Substance Abuse & Youth Council, Suffolk Redevelopment & Housing Authority, Western Tidewater Regional Jail Authority, self-annointed black community organizers, black churches, ministries and special interest groups. Recognizing the empire builders and turf wars of the past, how will anything of substance be gleaned from such a gathering. We had hoped the NAACP would do the smart thing and go it alone.

It may takes a village to raise a child, but only 18 months for our first ever black president to bankrupt a superpower.

Instead of Howard Beale's cry of being mad as hell in the 1976 movie Network, maybe we should consider something more appropriate like Dirty Harry's 1971hallmark line "Well do you feel lucky..well do ya punk".

Excuse me it is 2010. How outdated is the name and the group National Association Advancement of Colored People. what is this 1908?
The only thing of accomplishment this group has done in 40 years is get a flag removed from the
Capitol building of the state of S.C.

The NAACP didn't lower the SC flag the cowards in the state capital in Columbia did. The NAACP didn't remove the Virginia State Song "Carry me back to old Virginny" that happened to have been written by a black, our ignorant representatives in Richmond did. Does anyone see a pattern here?

The NAACP was founded around 1909 by a group that was almost all White and predominately Jewish. There was only one Black on the executive board when it was founded. A continuous line of White Presidents followed until 1975.

I thought National Night Out was going to latest fix for all this. Tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of city employee hours paid for by your tax dollars wasted. In October 2009 $433,000 was given for a North Suffolk Gang Task Force that was spent for five officers and one sargeant. Anyone hear what they have been doing lately?

In August 2006 big money was spent on the Youth Violence Prevention Plan, Suffolk Initiative on Youth with Councilmen Bennett and Brown, city staff, Old Dominion University faculty and many others. The results 4 years later demonstrates this has been a collosal waste of time and money.

Now we have to suffer the politics and grandstanding for money and respect by groups like the NAACP?
The time of talking and expensive tax payer funded task forces has long passed. SPD do your job as best as you can, we stand by you. The courts and the Commonwealth Attorney's Office get tough and put these punks away.

Don't forget the public schools. If parenting can't be done at home the let the government raise your child. You bring them into the world and Uncle Obama will give them a home, food and a special education. After all it's free.

anon 8:42 part of your statement is true the NAACP applied pressure on those in SC. just as they do today, same as Al and Jesse. One of the founding members of the NAACP was WEB Dubois. I suggest you read his books his is thinking. "Rev" Wright could be the grandson of Dubois. You mention that you knew where the post was going. Do you want to go, then lets go.

Dr. King would take one look at todays; NAACP Al and Jesse race baiter's, including Obama and Muchell and shake his head. You seem to have forgotten the part on regarding "content of character" part of Dr. King's speech.

Keepin it real said...

If you ever want to see what these meetings are like, turn on CSPAN and watch the National Black Caucus' Charlie Rangel and Maxine Watters do their best to blame it on someone else. All talk and no action from your elected representatives.

A week has passed and the only news from the NAACP is that parents must become more accountable, and conditions Suffolk black youth face is deplorable. I understand the former but not the latter. It might be advantageous if the NAACP were more specific,if true.

More pearls of wisdom about parenting, responsibility and education from the NAACP. If they are sincere about changing the thug/hood culture they allowed to exist and grow for decades, they could start by opening offices around the country that tract and collect from deadbeat fathers for child support? How about calling children born out of wedlock the correct name b-stard, and print it on their birth certificate so that others do not make the same mistake.

IT SADDENS ME THAT WE CAN ONLY LOOK AT THESE PAST MURDERS OF YOUNG PEOPLE AS A BLACK ISSUE, HAVE YOU NOT READ THE NEWSPAPERS LATELY VIOLENCE HAS NO COLOR. WITH THE ECONOMY BEING LIKE IT IT ALOT OF PEOPLE/ FAMILIES ARE EXPERIENCING POVERTY, HOMELESSNESS, AND OTHER SITUATIONS FROM ALL RACIAL BACKGROUNDS. WE NEED TO PUT RACE ASIDE AND RECOGNIZE WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS AND THE ISSUES MENTIONED ABOVE ARE NOT LIMITED TO ONE RACE. LET US COME TOGETHER TO WORK IT OUT AND UTILIZE THE SELF-WORTH OF ONE ANOTHER TO FORMULATE A PLAN TO LIVE TOGETHER WITHOUT VIOLENCE. STOP CRITICIZING OTHERS ATTEMPTS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO STOP THE RASH OF MURDERS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE TO THIS, IT COULD HAPPEN TO ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS OR YOU, IF WE CAN NOT FIND A WAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS. JOIN IN WITH THE NAACP OR ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION THAT IS TRYING TO MAKE OUR NEIGHBORHOODS SAFE. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE LATELY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

10:33 the 7:54 August 17 comment in my opinion says it all. This is a race-cultural issue that is entirely the fault of a lack of black leadership and basic parenting. When blacks decide to have skin in the game and denounce racial quotas and programs like Affirmative Action that place one race above the others, we can then start to have a constructive dialogue. Rather than admit their fault, groups like the NAACP will go to Washington, Richmond and Market Street to extort their elected officials, beg for more money and blame their never ending plight on white society. When politicians have the backbone and say NO will be the first day the black community starts on the road to recovery.

It wasn't hard for Councilmen Bennett and Brown to say "no" to the Nansemond Indians. It should be easier for them to do likewise with their own people. After all they can't be called Racists.

Anon 10:33, I am fortunate to have three straight shooting friends that stand by my side to protect me and my family from the Hoods, Bloods, Thugs, whatever. Let me introduce them to you they are; 44 Magnum, 9 Millimeter and 357 Magnum. I have no intention of solving your problems for you, that is entirely up to you.

Apparently two Black Councilmen could nix the Indian Village as revenge for the Phoenix Bank not being considered as a musuem for Blacks, actually a racist project. As for it being worth the restoration funds it was a better tourist drawing card with the pigeons defecating inside and outside the boken windows while the Chinese chicken cooker held sway.

Until Balcks are pressured noting will be done. It's not a question about us human beings. Our society has been drained by constantly dragging people along for decades and generations that have no other goal in life but to empty our wallets using the force of the government as a means of income redistribution and buying votes. This game is nearly over, you take care of your house and I'll take care of mine.

Katrina is no excuse said...

The five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina demonstrates what happens to people that have lived their entire lives dependent on government. They were so conditioned to receiving their check in the mailbox they refused to leave their homes with a category 4-5 hurricane bearing down of them. In the end they failed to protect their lives and sadly many perished. Their local, state and federal government also failed to provide the most basic of services. There is a lesson here for all, but groups like the NAACP only see it as a black against white struggle. Wonder if this was the case in Homestead Florida and countless other communities devestated by natural disasters.

Anonymous said...

Coalition formed, more talk but will meet again for more talk. Did they recognize that 90% of the crime is in certain areas of the city, that one particular "group" commits the crime, usually against people in the group. Whites in the coalition are useless and should get out before they are accused of racism. Even police in the coalition should not be white. If the blacks won't break up their own gangs it is a lost cause.

I can end this debate with one statement." Lets just stop arresting blacks"

Funny: Jesse Jackson’s Gas Guzzling Cadillac SUV Stolen and Stripped While in Detroit. Ironic: He Was There Promoting “Green Jobs”…
“There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.” — the Reverend Jesse Jackson, as quoted in US News, 3/10/96

This sure does fit the classic definition of EPIC FAIL! Do ya suppose he used the N word when referring to the people who stripped it down? Absolutely comical.

I honestly believe if MLK were alive today, he'd be YOUR friend, he'd be Beck's friend and mine he'd be a tea party speaker and he'd be a force in the conservative movement. His dream, his actions, his goals are the goals of true conservatism... The individual regardless of race, is responsible for their actions, is able to produce and contribute their own happiness uninhibited by GOVERNMENT and those like Sharpton, Jackson, Wright and Farakhan.

Anonymous said...

I am shocked over this.Beck will go after this like a shark gores after chum in the blood in the water.
KBL said it was "unable to form an opinion" on the accuracy of NAN's financial figures "because of inadequacies in the organization's accounting records."

In 2008, federal prosecutors decided to drop a criminal probe into the finances of Sharpton and NAN. But Sharpton -- who also has a lucrative syndicated radio show and a speech-making and consulting business -- agreed to pay back more than $2 million in overdue personal and NAN taxes.

The audit said NAN still owed $1.348 million in delinquent city, state and federal taxes and penalties at the end of 2008. The IRS has filed dozens of liens against NAN over the past decade, including one as recently as April of this year.

Last year, the Federal Elections Commission slapped Sharpton with $285,000 fine, in part for illegally using NAN funds to cover the costs of his 2004 presidential campaign.

I just cant believe this...snark

Mr. Gates from the Suffolk NAACP must step down and let the only person that can rescue Suffolk's Black Community take command. That person has dedicated her career to protecting and nurturing as a village elder while being a spiritual leader with resources to spend as she sees necessary. There is only one person that can lead us to the land of promises on Market Street, and that can only be our spunky feisty, Little Moses Lakita Frazier.

Anonymous said...

Yes she can! Yes she can and with a litle divine interference...

No doubt this will require more "stimulus" funding.

Not all of the hundreds and hundreds of $billions our malignant rulers have been looting from future generations and flushing away in the name of "stimulus" has been as flagrantly wasted as the $30 million spent to enhance the living conditions of rodents in Nancy Pelosi's district. For example, $800,000 was spent teaching Africans how to wash their genitals:
$800,000 represents the taxes paid like people by me x 1000. That is, everybody in my whole neighborhood paid their taxes this past year just to have it p***ed away.
And I am now just mad as hell. I am running through the stages of grief (over my lost money) at an amazingly fast pace!
I'm so mad I can see November! 2012!

The NAACP was unavilable for comment.
