MORE OF OUR DOLLARS BEING GIVEN AWAY

Found this in the news but what is it all about?

"A business development that appeared stalled for months might be moving forward.
The Economic Development Authority voted this week to give an incentive grant to Sparta Inc.
Despite the public vote, the resolution did not identify the size of the grant, which is funded with local tax dollars. City staff and the council appointed EDA board members declined to discuss details. Jack Eure, a lawyer and EDA board member, said the vote followed a closed meeting in which some "tough questions" were asked, but the matter is "pretty sensitive."

Lets guess which well connected attorney was behind this little deal. Folks they are spending OUR money and not telling us anything. Do you still think an Airport Authority is a good idea Mr. Barclay?

Well, it didn't take long to see what this EDA's priorities are.

Why not let them spend our money, thye spend much less than the bozos on council.

Suffolk is going to the dogs and it is not for peanuts!

Ask the Mayor why our money should be handed out like candy and I bet you get a stern speach about how good it is to live and work in Suffolk and how hard the council and staff are working for you and me! I got just that speach a few weeks ago and it was as distasteful as one would expect from a person I voted for. What world do these people come from and how do they get to this position? Then there are their supporters, who are beyond reason and work only for their own benefit like the SCCA crowd and the council camp followers like the political and skeming Constitutional Officers that are only concerned with feathering thier own nests. Things are getting much worse in Suffolk and there are so many items that prove it, it is bizare and I can't wait for the new budget to come out right after I pay my taxes in December. The latest example to the hair-brained thinking of council and staff is the repeal of the bulk refuse fees and difficult procedures that should never have been entertained, except to get more of our money to spend. How is it possible for these things to even get passed the sanity check, if we have such a good City Manager? How is it possible for people to set home and say nothing about them until they pass and then get repealed? Another is the Alarm fees I must now pay for my system that has never called the police, but I still have to pay so go figure!

Would the last person to leave Suffolk, please turn-off the lights and close the door when you leave? It is not a good time to live in Suffolk and I fully agree with that sentiment. I am sure that I will get some council supporter to advise I leave town myself. M response to them would be: I would if I could sell my home for a reasonable price up here in Eclipse rather than give it away after living here for over 40 years. And why do you even have the right to ask that of me!

Liven small,

I agree with all you have said. The brain dead on council just never seem to undertand that it is our dollars, not their's. I live on Bridge Road and just found this site and really agree with all that is said about how poor our local leadership is. I would move out of Suffolk in a minute if I could sell my house for what I have in it. I bought it in full and pay my taxes in one shot, twice a year. I just got may next bill for taxes in December and it is hared to see what I get for my $6,000 per year in taxes, but to watch an idiot mayor and her class of clowns. I hear that she uses her position to pad her work as a realitor and the work of her husband. Seems like she is cashin' in and we get cashed-out!
