IN TEXAS IT CAN BACKFIRE

Victoria, Texas is a town about 80 miles west of Houston. Local Hispanic leaders there, in opposition to pending Immigration Legislation, boycotted all Caucasian owned businesses last month as a demonstration of their economic impact on the community. The Hispanic community, noting revenue in Caucasian owned businesses was down 19%, declared the boycott a success. But those business owners also declared the boycott a success, pointing out that shoplifting was reduced by 77%, and money orders sent out of the country were down by 97 percent.. Shoppers reported they could actually hear English being spoken throughout the community for the first time in recent memory, and customers paid for purchases with real money, not government debit cards or food stamps.

Excerpt from their local paper.

This isn't true...it's an e-mail hoax dating back to 2008. Snopes has a story on this on their site just Google it.

To anonymous. Please don't burst the collective bubble. I'm starting to think (hope) that rpock posts this stuff on purpose (3rd one) just to stir the pot. Standby for the gratuitous "I guess you must work for the City because you have time to fact check stories on a weblog" comments. rpock, do you have an email address?

Stirring the pot can be fun...Some look to discredit. Some discredit thinking they are finding out truth and or character in a article. Too bad that attitude wasnt taken in the re-elction of the good sheriff

Where is the outrage in the Hispanic and Black Community. Are they embarrased to have been fooled into believing Obama's rhetoric or are they still blind followers of whoever gives them a pat on the back and a check? I have yet to hear any leader from either community speak out in protest.
