REPRINTS OF OLD NEWS

Over on the right side of  "INSIDE SUFFOLK"  in  BOB'S  CORNER  you will find news that we wrote at least five years ago. A little history is good for the mind and history may be helpful understanding what is happening today. The first reprint is from March of 2006 when a group of alumni and others convinced themselves, and the city Council, that we were in need of  more culture than parents or teachers can provide. It started as a noble cause and deteriorated to the point where the majority of tax payers were ignored and our beloved city leaders, elected and appointed, gave away millions of our dollars without our consent. In  the same breath the administration adopted a Tourist Bureau as one more way to invest dollars for dimes.  They can't yet prove they can recover the rent money spent let alone the salaries and free donuts. It is a room full of pamphlets extolling the virtues of other places. The city couldn't stand to have that million for restoration available for times like  these. And what a terrible thing to do to an historical courthouse.
