THE TRAP SNAPPED SHUT
Bad boys from gangs in Suffolk and Portsmouth taken down and put away. Great news from both cities as people fed up with violence got some relief when Federal authorities joined local police to mop up gang leaders. Maybe that's what the NAACP caused last months when they finally demanded certain elements cease and desist. Whoever brought it on is to be congratulated but it was the police in both cities who had been working on the problem a long time in cooperation with federal authorities with the power to "arrange" arrests and trials that stuck. A lot of citizens in both cities can breathe easier and a lot of would be gang members can enjoy second thoughts. We might add that the NAACP leaders should be grateful that their prayers were answered and maybe now they will keep an eye out for trouble and move quickly.

This "get-tough" policy can be easily explained as pre-election jitters by liberal incumbents. These otherwise jello spine individuals made a few calls to the local authorities to do a little housecleaning. After November 2nd it's back to buisness as usual.
Last Thursday right in front of me and several other customers, a drug sale was done between the cashier at a local restaurant near downtown and a young Black aka African American wearing the required bling and apparel-de-jour. Before he went into the pouring rain to his accomplice's car parked in the fire lane, he made the point to count his money out in the open for all of us to see. It was obvious even to someone totally unfamiliar with drug trafficking. That was the last time anyone in my family or friends will be patronizing that eatery again. If the authorities are getting serious about crime it sure as h-ll didn't look it on Thursday.
Bob: I find your your use of the word "gang" as being offensive, flamatory and racist. They are not gangs. They are businessmen practing and selling their wares.
