ELECTED WINNERS WILL FIND IT EASY WITH "IS" HELP

"Whoever wins will face an array of daunting issues, from navigating the prospective closure of the U.S. Joint Forces Command to updating the city's blueprint for long-range development. Difficult decisions also await on transportation, schools, and whether to repair or replace an aging City Hall. "  So reads a headline in the Pilot. So let us solve the problems for the Council and City Manager. Wouldn't that be unique ...they get paid, we get taxed, we will do their thinking and they will get the credit.

1.  Closing JefCom: It will close, we insist they keep paying property taxes to offset taxes we no longer collect from 2200 unemployees who have moved on. And maybe ask them if we can use one of the empty buildings for our City Hall.

2.  Build two schools and settle the Board's fear of  making decisions. This keeps City Council out of it.

3.  Let's quit messing with the city's long range blueprint for develolopent. Settle issues individually.

4.  Transportation: Until Obama is gone it is no sure thing we can afford to own indivdual cars.

5.  Replace City Hall: If JefCom won't loan or give us an empty building we fix up City Hall and lower employee salaries by the same percentage they are overweight. This would relieve stress on the concrete foundation while we wait for better times.

You may submit additional comments and if they are as serious as ours we might print them.

Why did Ms. Martin's campaign mailing came in the mail with a commercail business card stapled to it? The one I got had an advertisement for a local car repair business in Chuckatuck. Why would this happen? Is the business paying for the ad and was this listed on her campaign funding report? Will "email" David Sylvia investigate this and see what is going on here? Time will tell.

All should also understand that the past city hall hacks support Ms Martin and anyone who votes for her is really voting for Mills Standish, Bobby Ralph, and Calvin Jones. Not a happy bunch and it would be a waste of your vote.

Wow the list of accusations and name calling continues to grow from the DUMANIACS. Ms. Martin has now been accused of lacking integrity is deceptive spiteful and a manipulative Wanabe. Meanwhile Duman's friends are reading this blog, shaking their heads and realizing his chances of being elected are slipping away as fast as a congressional Democrat or Florida's Charlie Christ.

What was wrong with Calvin? I thought he did a pretty good job.

Why hasn't the astonishing comment from the morning's Va Pilot Sun from Mrs Martin that Suffolk's SRHA should consider refusing future HUD housing funds been said before this minute before the election? Surely this is major news and, if pursued, likely to cost Suffolk millions of $s a year in providing new low income housing and related funds. Hopefully, the CM, Council, and even the other SRHA board members will all oppose this "elitist" attitude without at least an analysis of the massive real estate tax increase this would force almost immediately.

Is this one reason why the promised Suffolk Republican Party endorsement of Mrs Martin (as promised by several of her pit bulls on this blog) has been either withdrawn or perhaps never even existed?

Some of her friends and fellow SCAA cronies have suggested that she had a lot to offer but has been ruined by a misguided or pompos attitude toward the average Suffolk taxpayer who is more concerned with family groceries than "cultural" cocktail parties.

Ms Martin is a cultured woman, capable of great things. She is wise and well educated with many good traits, but she is not qualified by one reason to seat upon our city council. She lacks the ability to understand Suffolk and what the average Joe or Joesy wants and is thus unqualified for the job.

If only she could couple her huge ego to real public service for the little people, she might have something! But, she has failed in this critical test and will wonder in the wasteland of the SCCA and her self induged groups to hear againa and again, why she should have won over the car-salesman! Mr Duaman does have the common touch and can relate to all the little people and will make a fine Councilman. Finally we got one right!

Duman could sell a car to anybody, he is a salesman, he owns a dealership, he knows a good deal when he sees it. Selling or buying.
