T. R. WAS RIGHT ON THE MONEY

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
>
> 'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.'

These words come from the founder of the Bull Moose Party. I'm not sure if it is Bull or Moose he espouses. But his statement on immigration is as valid today as it was in 1907. The difference with today is we are no longer the rugged independent and economicaly robust country we were a 103 years ago. The basis of our national ignorance lies within our public school system. It should either be dismantled and rebuilt or closed and left to the individual states to determine the best approach and means of educating the children, just like in the days of TR. Only when OUR schools recognize we are ONE nation that starts it's day with The Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer will we ever have hope of surviving these dark times.

Is someone inferring the dark times with Obama? I beg to differ and direct you to Senator Reid's comment that Obama is light skinned with no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one.
