MAYOR SEIZES OPPORTUNITY

Not to be left out of any ribbon cutting ceremony our mayor literally squeezed one participant so far out of position he could barely reach the ribbon with his sissors. (See the battle scene in the SNH) You will note that you can link from here to the SNH for their versions of news but never the other way around. Although over 50,000 computers have visited "Inside Suffolk" the SNH never recognizes that we exist. That may be an instruction from SNH higher ups, or they do not consider us worthy. Their story is that an existing firm is expanding because they found something in the waste water worth recovering. Two elements too valuable to just toss out with the dishwater and commode flushings. A product good enough to fertilize your vegetable garden and thereby eat the phosphorus and ammonia a second time.

Our pants suit queen can remarkably squreeze into almost any photograph. This one's a finalist in the help get Linda Re-elected contest. Unfortunately for the SNH Editor and photographer they will be receiving a letter of reprimand.

Mayor Johnson is a camera hound there is little doubt. I have no issue with her desire to be in the lime-light, I only ask that she also do something for that right for once, please! I hope she gets the chance to run aganist a smaller crowd next time for mayor. Remember that only about 35% of us vote for her! So I must make the statement, that she is not my mayor.

I agree with the third comment found here about the Mayor. I also agree that she is not my Mayor. She has done little for Suffolk, except use us all. I know there will be some to come around and say that if I want change I should get involved, but that is a ruse and diversion from the truth. The truth is that we have no leades righ now in Suffolk, my home of many many years and it hurts. We have people that only push and get what they want, not what we need. Just look at the spending from the Council and this Adminsitration and it is clear for all that want to see. I am staying here in Suffolk, but I will try to do more to get better leaders on Council and in administration for Suffolk. The failure of this group now in charge is getting to painful and pitiful. We need help to throw-out the bad ones and get better or Suffolk will continue to fail. Mayor Johnson only seizes opportunity for herself and we all know that to be fact. Sorry but true!

Why beat up on Mayor Johnson, she is only doing what most do when elected to office, feather their nests. She was elected properly, even if only by 35% or so in the last election. I do not think she could get elected in a good and proper race one on one, but that is how it is. She uses her office and preens in public like they all do. She is a politician no doubt, but that is how we elect our leaders and I doubt that will change soon.

Johnson is not the problem, just the issue for Suffolk. Would you like someone like Brown or Parr in the mayor's seat instead? They are bad enough as Council-members and could really do damage if they were Mayor! I remember back to when we first merged and had some real Mayors and City Managers, instead of what we have now. I must also state that much of the problems we now talk of and see are due to the poor administrators we now have. They may have better resumes, but lack the strength of character and leadership skills. The present City Manager is perhaps the worst we have ever had. She seems to be the go-to-girl for council, but lacks the strength of character to stand-up to them and lead when necessary.

We can have a bad City Manager, or a bad Mayor and Council, but not BOTH! So we are going to suffer more, for sure.

You shouldn't pick on the City Manager. Just look and you can see the benefits of Affirmative Action entering into and through UVA compunded and years of doing nothing but getting by because of race and gender. Yes friends this is truly a great country and we have a wonderful example for our graduates to emulate on Market Street.

The SNH is great a spreading it nice and thick in "their" Opinion Section. They have a nack to make more out of something than it really is. Perhaps it's their Hope & Change mentality.

Our highly competent city manager is now following the Obama Administration's policy of releasing bad information on Friday afternoons. Like two birds of a feather, they wait until the last minute hoping nobody takes notice or forgets over the hot weekend. The latest is an insurance crisis that nobody appears to know how it happened. Perhaps the hapless reporters at the SNH could contact the city's insurance broker to find out why. They are located just a short walk down the street from their office.

How to be happy in Suffolk: don't expect much! The present City Manager is unworthy of even the car allowance we pay her! Time to get rid of this problem we call the Chief Executive. She has been in over her head and only hangs on because she is a good foil for the MAYOR to use as she sees fit. The Mayor wants and has total control and also has a vindictive streak a mile wide. Cross her at your own peril. Does anyone believe that you just forget to pay your insurance bills? If so then these nincompoops are even worse than I am describing!

Maybe the mayor can seize the bill for the Volunteer Fire squads insurance bill that by law the city must pay. What a bunch of imbeceils.
