MAYBE ONE DAY IN AMERICA

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law in Australia were told on Wednesday to get out, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Separately, Prime Minister Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.' 'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.''We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society learn the language!''Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.' 'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.''This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.' 'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Marcus Garvey had it right. Adapt to being an American or back to the dark continent you go.

"Since private and publick Vices, are in Reality, though not always apparently, so nearly connected, of how much Importance, how necessary is it, that the utmost Pains be taken by the Publick, to have the Principles of Virtue early inculcated on the Minds even of children, and the moral Sense kept alive, and that the wise institutions of our Ancestors for these great Purposes be encouraged by the Government. For no people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders."

-Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, 4 November 1775-

Congress - "Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups."

At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.

This is a great, hoo-rah letter, but I don't believe it is true. I think somebody made it all up--wishful thinking, perhaps. Cite sources, and maybe I'll believe it. But for now, I think this is just a takeoff from someone's fertile imagination. There's NO WAY a politician ANYWHERE is going to say something like THIS!

Hey Wayne, Australian PM's have a history of outlandish statements. Going back to the 70's a Prime Minister commented on Queen Elizabeth's visit as; "She's a good Sheila and not a bit stuck up." Brits and most Aussies laughed. But seeing Lady Obama wrap her arm around the back of the Queen as if they were old pals was a matter of disrespect and insecurity. I agree with you that sources should be given before they are quoted. Rule of thumb, Austrailian politicians can only be quoted on statements given before lunch.

My favorite is PM Churchill being called drunk by an ugly woman at a dinner party. Chuchill said "I have had a few drinks and tomorrow I will be sober, however you madame will still be ugly".

Speaking of Muslims especially here in America are always complaining about soemthing they deem to be racist and or anti Muslim. They surely speak out here and in the UK a country they are in the act of taking over. O ask the following. Does anyone recall a story where Muslims were happy about anything?
