A DIFFERENT SLANT

"When Barack Obama speaks at an American university, he does not provide a different perspective. He preaches to the liberal choir. And I am afraid that most of today's Catholic universities are no exception. ... Contrary to providing diversity of opinion, by inviting Barack Obama, [Notre Dame University president] Father Jenkins really just played to his audience. True leadership would have been to invite a speaker who would inspire this young audience to take seriously the values of their Catholic tradition. ... Where can a parent send their son or daughter to get educated and not be indoctrinated with liberal boilerplate? Catholic universities were supposed to serve this purpose. But it's clear that they, too, have been swept into the liberal tsunami that has engulfed America. Ironically, Father Jenkins states in his letter that Notre Dame's invitation to Obama is 'not a political statement or an endorsement of policy.' He then expresses admiration for the president's views on 'expanding health care, alleviating poverty, and building peace through diplomacy.'

Once again, Obama made it about him. he made reference to HIS house (WH) The house that he speaks of is not his house, its the peoples house. he fails to forget that he is just occupying it for 4 years. His speech again was about himself I I I Me Me Me.Our Narcissist-In-Chief really does think it's all about him.
If he was at a funeral, he'd want to be the corpse.

For those that dont know: - Fr. John Jenkins, President of Notre Dame University, sits on the board of directors of Millennium Promise, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty in Africa that promotes contraceptives and abortion. ND isnt as Catholic as you think.

I think that any Catholic university that supports a program to reduce poverty by eliminating poor children has a serious problem. No Catholic should be taking a leadership role in an effort that distributes contraception or promotes abortion. And I am not Catholic.

I recall not very long ago Pope John Paul II gave communion to President Clinton just after the Lewinski incident. I was outraged by the insult as he took the host the symbol of the Body of Christ for his own personal political gain. Catholics are at an interesting crossroads. Cozy up to the seculars and be minimalized out of existance, or fight back anyway they can. Most Europeans have been socialized to the extent that government trumps religion. Obama is no fool. He recognizes the intoxicating power of money over God. One way or another he will strive to undermine American values for bigger government. Helping him every step of the way is the national media and so called progressives.

The next time you hear a "soup kitchen" priest, minister, reverend, preach the welfare doctrine remind him or her they are other churches and charaties more worthy than theirs.....yours.

Biden, Pelosi, Shummer and Kennedy are Catholic. So is Father Pfleger, Chavez and Jenkins. Is there anything else more that can be said other than excommunicate them.

Shummer is jewish

Shummer stated on Network Television News recently that he's Catholic. Could be he's as confused as Pelosi.

I couldn’t help but notice that during his speech the other day President Obama spoke in reverential terms about the Constitution. Yet when it comes to his own judicial philosophy — and, I expect, to his Supreme Court nominee — the Constitution will be viewed with a great deal less veneration. It will be seen as a “living” document, one that has no fixed meaning and can be reinterpreted for any reason at all, with new rights being manufactured out of thin air and rights enumerated in the Constitution conveniently ignored. President Obama not only selectively invokes the Constitution to advance his ideological aims; he does so in all the wrong ways. It is an astonishing, and worrisome, thing to behold.
I've come to loathe Obama because he is no different than Bush: A complete statist who sees no boundaries to **his** power. In other words, he's an "it's all about me" postuer who will wind up flaming out just as Bush did. Problem is GB wasnt trying to destroy the country with ones idealogy.
