SMALL TOWN QUEEN REIGNS OVER 83000 OF US

"IS" congratulates Rayvn Stringfield, new Queen of Suffolk's largest festivel.  A top student in King Fork High School. I think back to the forties when twice as chairman of our  annual four day festival  I had to pick the Queen. In addition to the usual qualifications we could not allow a daughter of our Lion Club member compete. This alone potentially eliminated 50  high school girls. Nor would a girl with black skin even consider applying  for the  honor. I'm ashamed to say that in our town there were no people with black skin. It wasn't allowed by civic leaders. Nor could a black person passing though expect to be served in any resturant, or sleep in a motel. It could still be that way, we came south in 1972.

Even choosing between white girls was not easy. It is amazing how quick the pressure comes from parents, school teachers, politicians, etc.  Not beholden to any of them I picked whom I considered right for the job. I'd like to know how it was done here.

Pock in your hometown ice fishing is done in the buff with an ax. Do you think a black family would move in with that many crazy whites?

The SNH did a nice job of describing the way that the Peanut Fest Queen is selected. From all that I have heard, this young lady has an impressive list of accomplishments to her resume.

The SNH photo has seven whites and one black that was the winner. I will not comment about their appearance but it appears there is a racial imbalance in assemblying the P-Queen nominees. I would like to see next year queen be either Hispanic, Asian or First Nation to maintain the politically correct posture the Pilotless Club has taken.

Keeping to their way of progressive thinking expect the Pilot Club's Safety Tree this "HOLIDAY SEASON" to have different colored lights to more appropriately reflect the color of our society and it's religions. Hannukah Blue for Jews, Mecca Green for Muslims, Oriental Red for Budist Asians, Off-White for Christians, Blinking lights for the Religiously Confused and Transparent for Agnostics and Atheists.

Too bad none of the ladies know how to operate a computer.
