Democrats made a lot of promises about this bill. Virtually every one has proved to be empty.” Employers must pay these increasing costs, therefore no increase in wages or other benefits.

many people who oppose the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”, also known as ‘Obamacare’, say the Founding Fathers wouldn’t have wanted the Government to make health insurance mandatory for private employees.
This is simply not true. In 1798, under 2nd President and Founding Father John Adams, the United States passed a law requiring mandatory health insurance for any private employees working on Maritime vessels. The bill was called “An Act for The Relief of Sick and Disabled Seamen”
It’s safe to assume that John Adams, who was the first Vice President of this country, the 2nd President of this Country, one of the Founding Fathers, and was a key negotiator in the peace treaty between the United States and Britain, had a pretty clear idea of what the Founding Fathers would have been alright with.

This year's remarks were pretty innocuous. They focused on urging students to push themselves academically and set high goals, namely pursuing education or post secondary training after high school, and finishing those studies.
"If that means college for you, just getting into college isn't enough," Obama said. "You've got to graduate. ... Our country used to have the world's highest proportion of of young people with a college degree. We now rank 16th. That's not good enough. We need your generation to bring us back to the top."
Obama alluded to the nation's economic struggles, saying that he suspected many students might be going through tough times at home, which had forced them to take jobs, or forced their parents to take on extra shifts at work.
He also spent part of his speech praising teachers, a group whose support could prove crucial to Obama's re-election chances next year. Some teachers have been critical of Obama's policies, particularly those supporting tying teacher evaluation and pay to student achievement. The president described the nation's teachers as selfless workers motivated by the desire to help students.
"They don't do it for the fancy office or the big salary," Obama said, in his prepared remarks. "They do it for you. They live for those moments when something clicks, when you amaze them with your intellect and they see the kind of person you can become."
Two years ago, the Obama administration came under a storm of criticism when the U.S. Department of Education released a series of recommended classroom activities for schools.Some conservatives said those activities seemed aimed at encouraging students and teachers to promote the president's policy agenda.
In this year's speech, Obama told students that by pursuing a two- or four-year college degree, they'd increase their chances of getting a good job—and of producing the kind of innovation that would help the country.
Some students are apparently starting that work early. Obama cited the example of a 17-year-old from St. Louis who worked with his sister to launch a community service web site for young people. And a 16-year-old from Texas, who has worked on a process that uses light to kill cancer sells, got a plug from Obama.
"Your country is depending on you," the president said. "So set your sights high."
Taxes, spending and jobs dominate the conversation in Washington, but there is a great deal more at stake in next year’s election, as Republicans know well. It sometimes seems as if they are the only ones who talk about their values, but they put forward an elitist and narrow vision that largely favors the upwardly mobile, the healthy, the native-born American and the needs of the corporation.
This cold message is disguised, of course, cloaked in warm-sounding talk of solid American traditions and values. Democrats, including President Obama, have shied away from these issues or have been too late and too weak in providing voters with an alternative vision, with their own larger goals for the nation.
In the last few days, however, Mr. Obama has finally begun to broaden his challenge to Republicans. He is taking on their obeisance to wealth and refusal to reanimate the economy, as well as their callousness. “This is a contest of values,” Mr. Obama said on Sunday. “This is a choice about who we are and what we stand for. The Republican template has been in stark view at presidential debates lately. It is a program to wind down the government’s longstanding guarantee of health care to the elderly and the poor and incinerate the Democrats’ new promise to cover the uninsured; to abolish the Department of Education and its effort to raise national standards; to stop virtually all regulation of the environment and the financial industry; to reimpose military discrimination against gays and lesbians, deport immigrants, cut unemployment insurance and nutrition programs, raise taxes on the poor and lower them for the rich.
The candidates who pander to their party’s lowest instincts are often egged on by the heartlessness of audience members at the debates. “Has anybody been watching the debates lately?” Mr. Obama asked in San Jose, Calif. He added: “You’ve got audiences cheering at the prospect of somebody dying because they don’t have health care and booing a service member in Iraq because they’re gay. That’s not reflective of who we are.” (Mr. Obama might also have mentioned the lusty cheers for Gov. Rick Perry’s record of presiding over 234 executions in Texas.)
There are many voters who are understandably dispirited or disillusioned with the Democrats. They might consider following a presidential suggestion and spending an evening or two watching the Republican debates. The Democrats lose their nerve at times. They are divided and factionalized and unsure, but they largely do not share what Mr. Obama called “a cramped vision that says you’re on your own.”
In making this long-overdue statement of contrast, Mr. Obama is animated by more than his own re-election. Should he be returned to office along with Republican majorities in the House or Senate, the country will have to endure years more of torturous partisan battles, as many or more steps backward as forward. At every level of the ballot, Republican candidates should be asked if they really want this to be a country where we’re all on our own.

Republicans are getting a great deal of mileage out of an interview investor Warren Buffett gave Friday morning, contending that the billionaire failed to endorse President Obama’s jobs plan or the proposed tax hike that bears his name.
The Republican National Committee, for example, e-blasted a mailer that claimed Buffett had disagreed in a CNBC interview with Andrew Ross Sorkin with Obama’s plan to raise taxes on America’s top earners.
But did Buffett actually say that? More than anything, while interviewed on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, he took a pass on commenting on Obama’s plan at all. As they used to say in the 20th century, let’s go the videotape:
Andrew Ross Sorkin: “Let’s talk about the Buffett Rule for a moment. Talk to me about how it came about in terms of the White House getting in touch with you and you putting your name to this?”
Warren Buffett: “Well, (National Economic Council Director) Gene Sperling called and said, ’Can we use your name?’ And I said, yes.”
Sorkin: “Are you happy you said yes?”
Buffett: “Sure, I mean I wrote about it.”
Sorkin: “Are you happy with the way it’s been described? Is the program that the White House has presented - a million dollars and over - your program?”
Buffett: “Well, the precise program, I don't know what their program will be. My program would be on the very high incomes that are taxed very low -- not just high incomes. Some guy making 50 million playing baseball, his taxes won’t change. If you make 50 million dollars a year appearing on television, his income won't change, but if they make a lot of money and they pay a very low tax rate, like me, it would be changed by a minimum tax that would only bring them up to what the other people pay .”
Sorkin: “Does that mean you disagree with the president's new jobs proposal which would be paid for by raising taxes on households with incomes of over $250,000?”
Buffett: “That's another program that I won't be discussing, but my program is to have a tax on ultra-rich people who are paying very low tax rates. Not just all the rich people. It probably would apply to 50,000 people in a population of 310 million.”
Sorkin: “That means you disagree with the president on the 250,000?”
Buffett: “No, no, you may disagree –“
Sorkin: “I’m asking, you agree that 250,000 is the right number?”
Buffett: “I will look at the overall plan that gets submitted to Congress which they are voting on and decide net do I like it or do I not like it? There’s no question there will be parts I’ll disagree with.” (Watch the video of the interview at the end of this article.)
Part of the confusion stems from Obama’s use of Buffett's name in recent speeches as promoting the idea the rich “pay their fair share.” The Buffett Rule, as Buffett described in the interview and as he has proposed elsewhere, would impact a small percentage (less than 1) of America’s wealthiest citizens and would elevate the rate they pay on capital gains to be comparable to middle-class tax rates.
Essentially, the proposal was boiled down to a metaphor which has billionaires such as Buffett paying taxes at a lower rate than their “secretaries.”
When Obama rolled out his version of the rule, it was described as a tax on millionaires, but in truth, it wouldn’t affect most people who earn more than $1 million a year unless they derived most of their income from investments.
Along with that proposal, Obama has advocating letting the George W. Bush-era tax cuts expire for families making more than $250,000 a year—something which has nothing to do with Warren Buffett or the “Buffett Rule.”

(CNSNews.com) — The Obama administration passed another fiscal milestone this week, according to new data released by the Treasury Department. As of the close of business on Oct. 3, the total national debt was $14,837,099,271,196.71 — up about $44.8 billion from Sept. 30.
That means that in the less-than-three-years Obama has been in office, the federal debt has increased by $4.212 trillion — more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush combined.
This $4.212-trillion increase in the national debt means that during Obama’s term the federal government has already borrowed about an additional $35,835 for every American household — or $44,980 for every full-time private-sector worker. (According to the Census Bureau there were about 117,538,000 households in the country in 2010, and, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were about 93,641,000 full-time private-sector workers.)
When Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009, according to the Treasury Department, the total national debt stood at $10,626,877,048,913.08.
That kind of debt is part of a “fundamental change” in the country which he promised isn’t it?
And he still has a year to go. Just imagine what he can achieve!

Why as most liberals and black have attmpted in erasing more than 100 years of American history and making the absurd assumption that one day, two major political parties just up and totally switched positions.
So on one hand you have a party that totally ignores black voters — the GOP — and then you have Democrats who see a chance to capture those same voters. — The Congressional Budget Office on Friday said that the federal budget deficit is on track to be $1.3 trillion this year, $14 billion more than the deficit CBO predicted in August.
Despite all the wrangling in the spring between Republicans and Democrats about budget cuts, 2011 saw spending outlays increase by 4.2 percent compared to 2010. This included a 1 percent increase in defense spending and 1 percent increase in Medicaid spending.
Medicare and Social Security spending rose by 4 percent, a foretaste of the ballooning in entitlement expenses expected to occur as baby boomers retire.
CBO said the change from the August estimate was due in part to certain payments being made in September rather than October and because revenue was $11 billion less than expected. The decline in revenue occurred in part due to delays in processing payments because of natural disasters, CBO said.
Final deficit numbers for fiscal 2011, which ended Sept. 30, will be out later this month from the Treasury Department.

S President Barack Obama Thursday offered his state dinner guest South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak an autumn harvest menu with vegetables grown in the White House kitchen garden at a state dinner.
The menu featured butternut squash bisque, honey poached cranberries, Virginia cured ham, pumpkin seed praline and creme fraiche for a starter.
The second course offered early fall harvest salad on daikon sheets, masago rice pearl crispies, rice wine vinaigrette, served with kabocha squash.
For the main course, Obama served Lee Texas Wagyu beef, orange-ginger fondue, sauteed kale and roasted kabocha Squash.
Some of the vegetables were harvested this week by US First Lady Michelle Obama with local schoolchildren in the garden she established in the White House grounds to highlight her "Let's Move!" health and fitness campaign.
Symbolizing the strength of the US-South Korea alliance, the White House served chocolate cake layered with a blend of Korean and American pears for dessert.
The dinner for around 200 guests was served in the ceremonial East Room of the White House, decorated with bright autumn tones or red, orange and green and apple centerpiece ornaments.

The Department of Energy is standing by a $529 million loan guarantee to a company building an electric car line in Finland.
A department official, in a lengthy response posted on a government blog Thursday night, confirmed that the company Fisker is assembling its Karma electric car at its “overseas facility.”
The response comes after ABC News reported that the Obama administration gave the green light for the company to move the manufacturing to Finland two years after announcing the loan.

A Labor Department Inspector General report released this week found that $7,140,782 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds went to four Oregon forestry services firms who hired no U.S. workers. From the report:
Only two Oregonians were listed on the employer recruitment reports, indicating that workers in Oregon were likely unaware these job opportunities were available. In fact, although 146 U.S. workers were contacted by the three employers regarding possible employment, none were hired. Instead, 254 foreign workers were brought into the country for these jobs.
