IF TRUE THERE WILL BE A RIOT

The story making rounds today is that Obama has plans to honor Jane Fonda. It would not surprise too many if they but consider his other recent radical accomplishments. If you think of the wounds such an action would reopen you hope, as we do, it is not true. Jane Fonda was and still is detested by anyone connected to the war in Vietnam and veterans still want her to do time as a traitor. Maybe you have an opinion of her activity back in that sad military history. The loose lip slip of a girl caused hatred and anguish that most survivors of that war cannot forget.

"IS" has received four emails from readers insisting that Obama has nothing to do with honoring Fonda, if in fact she is to be honored by anyone.
Snopes points out what is true and what isn't true about Jane Fonda's activity during the Vietnam war. We know that our military men and women regarded her as a traitor, and very few have forgiven her regardless of the concept of free speech.

I believe Jane Fonda rightly deserves her place in the history books. So please join veterans and active duty and ask President Obama to send her on the first solo manned mission to Mars aka the Angry Red Planet.

I served "during" Vietnam but only stateside at U S Navy bases.

I definitely agree that Mrs Fonda should not be honored as would those with whom I served, especially those who periodically returned home to our local bases after tours in Vietnam.

I would like to see John McCain greet Jane Fonda at the reception line at a White House reception in their honor. He could re-live their first meeting and share a few tasteful "pleasantries".

If they would have shot her for treason back then, we wouldn't have to have this conversation today, now would we?

She called the returning PoWs liars when they reported being tortured and said that their claims of such were "laughable." She went on to say that those who made those claims were "exaggerated for their own self-purpose."

She NEVER apologized for going, or the things she did.... she again... threw one apology out, that the MSM chose to make as a blanket apology to quiet her critics. She "regretted" taking the photo of her sitting on the AA gun wearing the helmet. SHE NEVER apologized for the things she did, and said, and has continuted to maintain that position when questioned/interviewed about it almost 40 years later, she still thinks she was correct in going and saying what she did.
All you need is the truth to shine the light on this cockroach and it will scurry back into the sewer from whence it came. Hopefully when she leaves us, it will be on Veterans Day and all vets can celebrate her demise together. When she used the c word on the Today Show I was not suprised. I just thought as it as self description of herself

Obama would like us to thank him. Well he it is; thank you for making mind numbed Americans wake up, thank you for pointing out how much a divided country we've become, thank you for the effort in weaking our national defense, thank you for taking more of our hard earned money, thank you for revealing how disengaged the national media has become, thank you for making the ACLU, SEIU, ACORN and the UAW all powerful and unaccountable, Thank you for taking over the banks, auto industry, insurance companies and our healthcare industry, thank you for keeping our children in the public schools ignorant, thank you for the stimulus package that generated nearly no jobs, thank you for the cash for clunkers program. Need I go further?

Does the photograph depict an angry mob of Nazi, white racist teabaggers foaming at the mouth for a piece of a liberal? Or are they peaceful demonstrators enjoying their constitutional liberty? That is how badly fractured our country has become.

I was in the US Army during the Vietnam War and have no problem with Miss Fonda. I for one was fighting for the freedom of Americans, including the right to disagree with the war.
