SAY IT ISN'T SO

First they said government health care would cost $1 trillion. Then they upped overnight to
$1.6-trillion. No one really comprehends these numbers. Washington's spending spree is lulling everyone to sleep. The price tag for last fall's bailouts approached a trillion dollars. And so did this spring's stimulus spending. Now comes health care and eyes glaze over at such numbers because nobody really understands what even one trillion is. It's true that people ignore what they don't understand.

If you took a trillion one-dollar bills and laid them end-to-end, they would reach from the Earth to the sun. (98,000,000 miles) But you can't do that because there isn't that much money; the total of all the cash in the United States is less than $900-billion. The interest on a trillion dollars, at 6%, requires paying $166 million in interest EACH AND EVERY DAY, and that’s just the interest. What's frightening about spending new trillions is that it's happening. It happened in the last year and is happening again right now. And who will be asked to pay it back? Well just you, your children and your grandchildren. Hell, I'm 84; not to worry.

"Let's have an honest debate on health care." Barrack Obama.

Lets stop and think about that quote. With the upcoming White House/ABC health care infomercial, the network is making no attempt to be objective, and are seemingly proud in making that very clear.
"The ABC Television network has a long-standing policy that we do not accept advocacy advertising. It’s just something that has been in place forever."
— Emily Lenzner, ABC News spokesperson...
Obviously " There are questions for the President's "Prescription for America" with no real questions is not "advocacy advertising". Forgive me, ABC for being stupid. Where is any debate or possibility to debate.
NBC,MSNBC and ABC they truly do think we are that ignorant, that we won't notice their blatant bias.
Cheese and crackers, a whole network devoted to shoving Obama policy down our throat.
A couple of years ago, I would not think it possible.
While many believe their day at the White House pimping for Obamacare is precisely that, ABC clearly doesn't care what We The People think, and they continue do so and codify their own irrelevance.

What part of honest and debate do they not understand?

While there remains a large unproductive, unhealthy, and disproportionately aging population, all of their policies will fail miserably and/or be extremely painful. Not to mention the staggering level of corruption throughout this country, and particularly among our "leaders." I always thought that the system would remain stable so long as there remained sufficient wealth to absorb the instabilities induced by the issues cited above; but, it seems that our wealth, in large part, was illusory and their policies only exacerbate the perception and misconception of prosperity.

We will wake-up with a massive hangover and so will our grand kids.

Canada has often been used as an example for our medical system. I had the oppotunity to hear about their expensive socialized medical system from relatives. Hospitals are filthy and dark. Patients are treated as parts of an assembly line. Doctors are paid by the number of patients they see, not by the quality of care they give. If a medcal condition arose requiring attention, the patient is told to wait in line sometimes for weeks before they can be seen. During that time the patient's condition could worsen or be inoperable. So it's left to the individual to dig into their pocket and pay for a private examination or chance the consequences.

The last time I visited Canada it was far more prosperous than today. The tax burden on citizens has been onerous crippling the private sector. Fortunately for their government they control the CBC and other media and can paint a happy picture no matter what. Everyhing is about 15-20% higher than here. Small businesses have been nearly wiped out.

But there is always hope for change. I'm sure President and Lady Obama will be glad to take your privledges away for the greater good of the masses.

He emerged from the vapors with a message that had no meaning; but He hypnotized the people telling them, "I am sent to save you. My lack of experience, my questionable ethics, my monstrous ego, and my association with evil-doers are of no consequence for I shall save you with Hope and Change. Go, therefore, and proclaim throughout the land that he who preceded me is evil, that he has defiled the nation, and that all he has built must be destroyed". And the people rejoiced. For even though they knew not what The One would do, He had promised that it was good; and they believed. And The One said, "We live in the greatest country in the world. Help me change everything about it!" And the people said, "Hallelujah!! Change is good!"

The Messiah believes HE IS GOD. Obamaa's talking about he's going to allow people to keep their doctor. Who the hell is he to allow us to do anything? We've got to stop thinking about this the way we do. Who is he to say he is going to allow us to keep our doctor? Sorry, folks. That's not his job. The President of the United States does not personally permit or allow anyone to do anything except people who work for him. The bottom line is he works for us. We are the ones that have the power to say, no, we're not going to allow you to destroy our public sector; we're not going to permit you to destroy the greatest economy in the history of the world. We're not going to permit you to do it.
Everything this man is proposing will destroy this country. It's always, put forth that we are in crisis, it is critical, we must hurry hurry hurry. Now, if you paid attention to the news today, after cap and trade, gotta get that done tomorrow, gotta get it done tomorrow, gotta get it done, cap and trade. You know why they want to get it done? To get it out of the way before anybody finds what it is so they can move on to healthcare. Get that done, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, before anybody can find out what's in it. Yeah. You let a number of Americans find out that unions are exempt from any tax increase on their healthcare benefits, and there's a number of other things in this bill that if people found out about they would oppose it even more than they already do. Obama doesn't want you to know what's in this bill.
In fact, Senator Kennedy's version of the healthcare bill mandates that members of Congress are exempt from whatever healthcare bill Obama and Kennedy come up with. It's right in the bill.
The problem is that there are people who want Obama to succeed in destroying our economy, because to do the opposite would mean they'd have to admit they the Democrats, activists, and their media were wrong all along, and we can't have that.

All hail the new Chicago Mafia. Al Capone and Mayor Daly would be proud of their accomplishments.

Hey kids, I've got great news! Free medical care for us +50 year olds. No expensive monthly healthcare bills. No annual check ups or physicals. Here's the best part, you will be paying and paying and paying for it for the rest of your lives. You won't know until it's too late, because you're so distracted texting your friends and ignoring the obvious calamity about to befall you.

I know I'm showing my naiveté, but one would think it not too much to ask that our legislators know what's in the legislation they sign. Obviously, my thinking that is one big joke…
If every member pledged to not vote for it if they hadn’t read it in its entirety, I think we would have very few votes.
"I’m laughing because I don’t know how long this bill is going to be, but it’s going to be a very long bill.
— House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D.-Md.), at his regular weekly news conference on the health-care reform bill.
I guess his (and the Senate's) complete knowledge of what they propose to impose on all of us is way too much to ask.
Lately folks, it is too much to ask our legislators to read/know what's in the legislation.
"Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead, we don't care what the Great Unwashed Masses say, we *will* get our agenda passed before the GUM toss our sorry asses out of power. Grab all that we can as fast as we can before they show up with pitchforks and torches!"
Sigh. It's going to be difficult cleaning up after these Adult Children…
Imagine if surgeons did this – operate without knowing what's wrong. Or captains – no time to navigate, just aim at open water!
The only difference is that these lawmakers, even if they get voted out, will keep their perks and connections.
If it fails they will blame Bush. Move along nothing really new here..
