IT CAN'T BE THAT

Are we Americans as dumb as we often appear or is it that we just don't think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for perceived errors. Seventy percent of Americans believe the trading with the Chinese should be suspended. If you are part of this group don’t wait for the government to suspend trading privileges? DO IT YOURSELF!! Look at every product you buy…if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' Peoples Republic of China put it back. You will be surprised at how dependent you have become on Chinese products, just shake your head and put it back. The store and China will get the message. If you do not care one whit, that's another story.

Let me make sure I understand you. You are saying not to shop at Walmart?

The Chinese save, Americans spend. They appreciate education, we ignore it. They work hard for the future, we sit and wait for the future. They have strong central government with long term planning, we have weak minded distracted leaders looking only at the next election. They hold billions of our debt, we created that debt. Their star is rising fast, ours is crashing in flames. Any other questions?

It's already too late to recover our manufacturing base. Clearly any hope was lost this past election. All we can do now is watch China gobble up what's left like Hummer vehicles. Because of our laziness, greed, unions and government meddling, we've become a second rate nation. Our military likewise is suffering as our technology is exported overseas to attempt to retire some of our gargantuan debt. We have joined the British and French lost empires of the previous century. So go ahead and buy that PRC product you'll never again see one made in USA.

It is even worse when you take into consideration how our city is failing. We now have the highest taxes ever, the lowest service ever, more fees for what used to be done as a given service than ever, the least qualified in power than ever, and the worst City Manager than ever. The fall is not just in Washington, we seem to now accept that an unqualified City Manager and her staff are somehow doing a good job just ecause they do what councilman Parr says to do. This city is getting to be a bad place to live and that is happening fast. I live in the old downtown and will be out campaigning for whoever runs against Parr in about a year. Any takers for the job? Parr has about done it as bad as it ever has been done, and that took some doing!
