"IS" ENDORSES GB

A touch back in time we were admonished for not endorsing Raleigh Issacs perpetual run for the gold...we thought we had. No mistake this time, IS endorses Glenn Beck in his attempt to keep Obama out of an additional presidential race. If you are not watching this 5 pm upstart on Fox Cable it's because you have a job. His anti-progressive-liberal-socialist formula will cause you to wonder how big his bodyguard is. His goal is quite simple: eliminate at least half of congress and make certain Obama will not make idiots of voters a second time. IS encourages comment defense of the current administrations handiwork with the economy, health care, and lower Public School kid brain washing. Let's hear from the Governor, for example.

Pock, Beck can be a little extreme not like those two idiots Obletoon and Madcow over on MSNBC. IO give him credit for doing what no one else will do in the post mordem media.
All of the secrets of this adminstration are similar to a leaky dam. The Obama 2008 POTUS campaign, along with their willing assistants , the MSM, successfully kept a patch on the small leaks of his life, associations, and writings. But just like a dam with a leak that has a small patch, the pressure of the water soon becomes overwhelming and the amount of leaks gradually overwhelms.
Right now, you can see the momentum of the leaks picking up steam. Van Jones, ACORN,a autobiography that may have been atleast partially ghost written, and now Valerie Jarrett. It seems that in Chicago, all players, regardless of race, background, religion, etc. are dirty.

Going after Beck is a no-win for Obama. Just by calling him out, he is acknowledging him ala Limbaugh. Beck, just like Limbaugh, is an entertainer, not a politician. His goal is to get people to watch his show and coming after him makes everyone curious. Until the Van Jones boycott, I had never watched Beck’s show. Regardless of what people thought of George W. Bush, did you ever see him go after little talkshow people? Did you hear him constantly whine about how he is portrayed? If Obama were to somehow bury Beck, someone else would take his place. Beck is just appealing to a sentiment, filling a conservative voice, and connecting with everyman, whether he is himself or not. He has given attention to an audience that 80% of the MSM either mocks, dismisses, or ignores. Beck does go a bit extreme sometimes, but there is big truth in what he says and that is what really scares Obama. I guess Obama doesn’t like being called a racist. Join the club, buddy!

I said it before and I'll say it again. Nobody among the Republicans can hold a match to former UN Ambasador John Bolton's knowledge, intellegence and communications skills. Not Pawlenty, Palin, or Romney. If you want a beauty contest for the GOP candidate go ahead and pick another McCaine or Dole. The GOP just doesn't get it.

Krauthammer could work for me along as a team with Bolton or alone.

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry.

He's done all this in 5 months -- so you'll have three years and seven months to come up with an answer. GOD HELP US!

Krauthammer is a good man who has overcome personal tragedy to become an important figure who belongs in the American conservating media. Forbes might take a cabinet position but unlikely to run. The political hacks currently positioning for 2012 will be cut to pieces by the media, democrats and pop culture cronies. Obama's 2012 opponent must therefore be John Bolton because he is a strong communicator, has a physical presense and clearly grasps the issues Americans and the world need to understand.

Or, wait a minute Obama, were your ideas about America's Christianity formed during the 20 years you were a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ under your pastor, Jeremiah Wright? Is that where you got the idea that " America is no longer a Christian nation"? Is this where you, even as you came to call yourself a Christian, formed the belief that " America has been arrogant"?

When did this happen? IS endorses Issacs? What happened to the transparency thing? What happened to to information about the cover up of his son's 4th DUI? How is it that an individual can test 2.5 times the legal limit and not be charged? Is this the kind of transparency IS is about? If so we need to go back to reading paper news.

WELL SAID, Its kind of like Dont ask, dont tell. The question has been asked and Issacs and the DA remain silent.
Neither the SNH or IS will pursue this and ask publicly of Issacs the question. Maybe the only real paper the Pilot will Hopefully Clauson will have the stones to ask what happend. If not then he has no business being sheriff.

There is no doubt that both incidents involving elected officers, both Commonwealth, were covered up. More accurate would be to say there was probably press coverage but those Investigating Reporters rightly or wrongly calculated it would be in their, the reporter's, best interest to keep the mouth shut and the news ignored. Happens a lot in small towns.

If IS is all for open and transparent govt as they have stated in the past, Why does IS have to SHUT UP? Could it be they support the re-election of Issac's no matter what didnt take place in the court system? Which is it, being honest and standing by their own comments on open and transparent government or being hypocrits?.I think its the latter and their credability is questionable. Looks like the good old boy network has recruited new members like Acorn recruits legal voters.

I enjoy repartee with a stranger and can only add this: IS is a team, several of us are responsible for what is written here. It is difficult to speak for all of them but I believe I would be correct in surmising that none of us believe either Commonwealth Officer should be slapped around for what "wickedness" was credited to their adult children. And it is quite obvious that particular bit of news was spread by the usual grapevine quicker than had it been printed and distributed, you certainly did not miss out.on it We believe both fathers are doing their jobs in acceptable fashion.

I think we have many fine sheriff's deputies in our city and I certainly recognize that Mr. Issac has supported programs offered by the Virginia Sheriffs Institute, including scholarship programs benefitting students to $400.00 each. I also recognize that Mr. Issacs has been our sheriff for years - but that does not make him entitled to a vote.

My support and vote will go to Jay Clason this year. I trust Jay to make decisions related to his duties as Sheriff. I have a high regard and value for Jay's experiences beyond our Suffolk community. As we grow our city, we will benefit from the ideas that others bring - including those from Jay.

I'll write more later as I'm off to volunteer at one of the booths at PeanutFest!

Constitutional officer being slapped around? If he is corrupt and fails to enforce the laws or see that they are enforced should be held accountable. And if that officer was complient in any wrong doings and cover up,he too should be held accountable. What if the adult (not a child in this case) had killed or injured another, I guess that would be alright as well? We have seen shades of that as well in the past. Since when did "wickedness of a child or an adult offspring of one of these officers who took an oath, over ride the law? No one is questioning the everyday way they perform their duties, its questioning WHY they didnt or havent in this case. As for the comment on speaking on behalf of the team, one question or comment only. The team supports which, flawed character decite and dis-honesty or open transparent govt. The public has the right to know and should know. If Clauson does present this question to the public and Issac's himself, (what can happen to him, arrest, harrasement) I can imagine the smear and attacks he will undergo from the old guard and the team there at IS. He will become the Sarah Palin of Suffolk. The digging is going to be hard to find dirt on this man, where he doesnt have to dig very deep at all. Its a part of the public record, both in the papers and official documentation. He need not have to petition under the FOIA. VOAI. This is the end of a personal opinion. It is not being submitted as an attack on any one or any group, its a question that needs answers and owed answers. Not just for this taxpayer but for all taxpayers who attempt to live by the law, and believe in honesty and character of those they elect.

RPock "...I believe I would be correct in surmising that none of us believe either Commonwealth Officer should be slapped around for what "wickedness" was credited to their adult children."

I have followed this incident and hear it continously on the campaign. Personally it is not a campaign issue for me. But it obviously is one for the citizens of Suffolk.
The above quote shows that RPock has totally missed the point. That being that the fathers are not being taken to task for what their adult children have done. It's what they have done, what appears in the mind of the voters to be a cover up contrived between the Sheriff's Department and the Commonwealth Attorny's office. If unfounded I suggest that the court evidence be made public as well as medical records that prove there was no DUI involved.
Again, for me as a candidate, it's not my issue. My focus is the needs of citizens to be equally represented, and the future of the city.

May the better man win. Now that all the "facts" are out, or presumably soon will be, the voters will make their choice based upon their individual assessment of the behavior of candidates for sheriff, as it should be. IS has no axe to grind and was not even in existence at the time of the alleged coverups.

Mr. Clason, I owe you an apology sir for not having your name stated correctly in my comments. This topic is not just on the mind of this taxpayer. As Mr Pocklingon made reference to keeping ones mouth shut. That is how some react or think when it comes to certain people in positions of power and trust. Many of us dont feel this way as surely as there is a Law and Order rerun. Yes, the pun was intentional. In THIS case of Issacs and the DA there is law but there was no order.
In regards ro Mr. Pocklingtons comments about the team and who they support. We can clearly see that he mis-spoke. Debra Wahlstrom a team member, who spoke of her intentions. She spoke of the sheriff's accomplishments, she praised him you could say. Its my belief that she too doesnt question his performance in his daily duties. If this is true and there is no reason to think anything different what is she questioning in her own way? Is it all about just change or does it go deeper? Bill Clinton was a good president some say. However one event almost caused him to lose the office of the presidency. Raleigh Issacs in no Bill Clinton. If Issac's survives this gross injustice that has been created, and had the blessings of the DA. Then so be it. Suffolkians get what they wanted and deserved.
The title of the thread says "IS endorses GB". Why? Because he asks questions that others wont? Kettle meet pot. That is the hypocricy in their statement. I hope that its the northern voters who help carry you in your journey into the world of Suffolk politics. You cant count on the good old boy network down on Market Street or the "team" at IS nor the SNH. You can count on the quiet folks who are scared to ask and of those who are just plain fed up with politics in Suffolk that are questionable at best. VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS. I want to thank Mr. Pocklington for being responsible for what I have written. That is as far from the truth as Obama being deserving of the NPP. IS is only responsible for posting any and all comments. If they chose not to allow comments that are in violation of their conduct policy that is correct and one should know what to expect. It is the writters responsibility for his or her comments. If the commentary passes the IS test and they "censor" the commentary, they are no longer being a responsible forum for the public to come in and share an opinion or debate. They become biasis and lose the debate of being open and transparet as so stated in the past. Again thanks to the entire team and Mr. Pocklington for providing this venue. Good luck Mr.Clason, Thank you for your service to our country. Hopefully your honesty, honor and character will be a NEW and great addition into the office of Sheriff It's traits like yours that are needed.
Folks, remember VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS. (VOAI)

The City Council does not plan to pursue potential past violations of a local land transfer law, including two cases from several years ago that involved work by the mayor's husband, one council member said. Councilman Joseph Barlow said he wants the city to take action against past violators but there is not enough support among the other seven council members to do so.
