SO HE DOESN'T LIKE THE DECISION

So he doesn't like the decision. But what has Leroy done other than serving on various committees  Although surely there have been many or his fans  would not be satisfied. But to claim foul on the part of those who had the duty to determine what was fair and equitable was wrong. The city should stick to their guns if what they decided will stand up in a court. Perhaps the Mrs. Borough chief, his a partner should remain quiet on  the suggestion that race is a factor. There is little difference between 5-3 and 6-2 votes and if color does matter that much then what about the whites that like the change from status quo. It sure doesn't smell right if this one is changed.

It is true the Mr Bennett has done little to distiguish himself as a statesman, but do they have the right to draw him out of the borrough? I feel the best recourse is to put this up to a vote of the people as to what plan to pick. Even if we can not pick very good councilman, maybe we can pick better borroughs.

Name the persons that are redrawing the districts. These are functionaries of the city manager who is a black female type person with a degree in affirmative action.

The times are changing fast. Nansemond Borough has been growing and four years ago that should have been apparent to Bennett. No doubt he will play the race card just like Hinton.

Does he have a right to his borough in the first place?

Being elected is a privilige, not a right. It is an honor, not an entitlement. It seems that our gentle representative has forgotten this. And so what if he loses his borough? Let him run for election in his new one. Perhaps he can win over Brown's constituents with tales of all his good deeds in the Nansemond borough.

Don't forget, Mayor Johnson encourages every citizen with a redistricting plan to submit it. We know how well that worked with the budget proposals, right?

Mayor Linda and her henchmen Parr and Gardy have done their deeds and will have their way. Bennett was not a "Linda Johnson Team-Player" and will pay the price with his seat on council. This is also further proof that the City Manager will always do as she is told. Nice!

7PM's comment does that mean that Mike Duman is a team player? Is this what Chuckatuck Borough voters and IS wanted, another go along to get along councilman? People are balking at the price for garbage fees but it's too late and that's tough but maybe now voters will wake up and stick it to the incumbents. Sadly Duman has become another member of Johnson's Nursery. He will not likely run at the end of his term opening the door for a Johnson connected slumlord lawyer.

I would like to see Hinton and Bennett sit on the steps of city hall and hold their breath in protest until they turn White. Fortunately the rescue squad is across the street.

Did we forget Duman voted against the budget and was opposed to mandatory recycling which he voted against on two separate occassions? Hardly a "go along".

This debate is another reason, we need term limits but then again what dishonest or "honest" politican black or white would want to vote him or herself out of job?
