THROW THAT BABY OUT WITH THE BATH WATER

There will be no major changes in health care this year, next year, or for several years if Obama’s plan calls for more than ten dollars of new debt. There is an awakening taking place in Washington this morning as the specter of debt rises higher than the sun. There will be words like “Wow,” “Gee Whiz,” “I didn’t think it was this bad.” Even the most hapless Representatives and Senators will utter them. If there is even a scintilla of brain in the head of the most liberal of them they will understand their job is at risk in the next election should they continue the madness. It will occur to the majority that it is best to solve health care problems for those legal citizens that want protection but cannot afford it. Even Tort reform will now come under consideration. But we must keep a sharp bayonet to their butts to help them think, or this nation eventually becomes a banana Republic.

One of the Senate's most influential Democrats said Sunday that the U.S. can't afford to add up to 50 million uninsured to government health care -- costing taxpayers nearly $1 trillion -- until the recession ends. Sen. Lieberman also called for scrapping radical health care plans in favor of a more "incremental" approach

The simple fact is NO ONE is dying in the streets because they do not have health insurance. So the argument that tens of millions of "Americans" are uninsured is a half truth if not an outright lie. Paying their way are the private and non-profit medical facilities. The next time you are in the neighborhood of Obici Hospital drop into the Emergency Room after 6PM and see the number of individuals waiting for assistance. A handful appear capable of paying their bill, many are chronic hypochondriacs the rest don't have two dimes to rub together. Nevertheless they are receiving medical assistance.

The importance and magnitude of the national debt is so abstract to the average citizen they have no understanding who and how it will be paid. The members of Congress are counting that the average Joe and Jane will not consider anything that does not immediately affect their livelihood. They are banking that if the government cannot pay it's bills it will simply print some more money. Let inflation resolve the national debt. Both parties are angling for the next election. The Dems are thrashing about firing threats of a majority vote on healthcare power grab, while the Reps cower in their offices gloating they will sweep into power in 2010 but have absolutly no idea what to do.

Every so often I check IS because I am interested in the issues facing our city officials and the decisions they are making.

All that is posted are ridiculous, unsubstantiated and closed minded comments about issues that are not related to the purpose of this blog.

From today's Associated Press

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration expects the federal deficit over the next decade to be $2 trillion bigger than previously estimated, White House officials said Friday, a setback for a president already facing a Congress and public wary over spending.

The new projection, to be announced on Tuesday, is for a cumulative 2010-2019 deficit of $9 trillion instead of the $7 trillion previously estimated. The new figure reflects slumping revenues from a worse economic picture than was expected earlier this year. The officials spoke only on the condition of anonymity ahead of next week's announcement.

The Obama Administration is about to undermine the "independent" media with the Fairness Dcertine and by leveraging them by purchasing air time for government program advertisements. Notice recently the number of government paid ads on television. This is far more damaging than anything done by this congress. Very soon the internet, radio and televission will be regulated by government sensors. With an under-educated population fearful of reprisals and wholly incapable of independent thinking, its just a matter of time before the next shoe drops.

America has the best health care system in the world, govt run healthcare will destroy our medical care.We cannot allow this to happen. They will decide who gets what treatment.Obama has said some people should get a pill instead of needed surgery. And why should we pay for health insurance for illegals? No one is denied emergency treatment in America.Healthcare reform yes and socialized healthcare NO.
