ARE YOU EXCITED

A well written story by Emily Collins about the up-coming Homerama shows up this morning in the SNH. I believe everything she wrote with one exception, how excited everyone is, a million or more expected to view the "Modestly priced" homes. Now, unless there are a few 1000 square footers in the collection there won't be too many immediate sales and the place will eventually look like most other Homerama sites in the area, sparsely settled. Even though fixed mortgage interest rates are low they won't appear to be so when your pink slip arrives with a sad message about how you never should
have taken the plunge in view of the nations malaise.  And Obama still has a year to do more damage.

The next homearama should be at the fairgrounds. Think about the innovative products that could be featured besides the multi-purpose blue recycling bins. A bullet proof family room for when the Hoods come into your hood. The electified barb wire fence and automated barking dog alarm system. Recycled peanut shells spread on the walkway so you can hear the footsteps of univited guests. Soundproof walls to block out the rap lyrics from the crackhouse next door. I hope our special city manager invests her life savings into one of these beauties.

The lack of progress surpressing the GD Swamp fires should be cause for the promoters to rename this year's event in beautiful Northern Suffolk to Smokearama. Only Mayor Johnson can blow more smoke than 6000 acres of buring bogs.

The only one to hold a smile across her face is our "Realtor Mayor" and her happy band of council misfits that is served by the real estate market. Parr the speculator, Gardy the real estate attorney, Brown the want-a-be developer, Duman the prospector, Barclay the developers ‘attorney, Milteer who you can buy for a few loads of gravel for him to hand out as patronage, and of course the Mayor’s favorite, Bennett who she wants out of the building by redistricting him out of the game entirely.

Then you have our fantastic City Manager and her wise and worldly staff that she has handpicked to support them. She will not take any leadership role and will always be at the phone to respond to the Mayor’s latest whim and call. Not, how it is supposed to work people.

A real proud crowd to draw to no doubt! And you wonder why we have so many problems in running our little city. With this group in charge much longer, even with our shiny new AA+ rating will insure we end up in those nice new dumpster cans we all pay for now. So, welcome to HOME-A-RAMA, Suffolk style!
